We are pleased to inform you that the Global Alliance for Homeland Security and the Homeland Security Industries Association are organizing a seminar on "Global Terrorism & Its Remedies", to be held on October 25th, 2007 on Capitol Hill, Washington DC in the International Relations Committee's Conference Room.

Our seminar will be simulcast from Washington DC to Bangladesh. This forthcoming Seminar in October of 2007 is the latest in an ongoing series of international seminars, whose goal is to bring about world peace through international cooperation.

Some of the goals of this conference include, attaining HLS assistance to the SARC countries from international development agencies such as AID and the World Bank, improvement of Port Security including SARC country participation and cooperation in the CTPAT Trusted Shipper Program, improvement of Airport Security, Ground Transportation Security, and Border Security.

Another goal is to increase our awareness of the concept of terrorism and the crime of associating this word with anyone group of people. We really need to educate our selves about the backgrounds of the different religions and types of people around the world, and we need to try and maintain peaceful co existence.

In the current day, the concept of Terrorism is a very predominant topic, and its meaning is very misunderstood. Furthermore, because of its misunderstanding, the people of the world have disunited, and it has led to the downfall of humanity as a whole. Why not live on earth together in harmony? Let us analyze this word, "Terrorism".

What is Terrorism? Terrorism is any unjustified attack by individuals, groups or states against a human being, the environment, public or private facilities, and endangering natural resources. As we can see, this definition does not narrow it down to any one type of people or group. Terrorism is present in all parts of the world and comes in various forms. Combating terrorism cannot just be done by one group. It has to be done by everyone in the whole world, whether the terrorism exists in a school shooting or if it exists in the blowing up of buildings and innocent people. We, the people of all races and religions, need to work together to be successful and combat terrorism from every angle. In order to do that, we also must understand what is terrorism, and not be confused with associating terrorism with only one group of people.

Islam promotes and teaches peace while "Terrorism" suggests doing the exact opposite of that. A complete oxymoron! Unfortunately today people have been misled to think that Islam is a religion of Terror and oppression.

It is quite clear that the actions of criminals are not representative of a religion nor is that religion to be held accountable. Let there be no misunderstanding: Islam forbids the killing of innocent civilians, wherever and whoever they may be.

What Does Islam Say about Terrorism?

Islam, a religion of mercy, does not permit terrorism. In the Quran, God has said

The Prophet Muhammad used to prohibit soldiers from killing women and children, and he would advise them: "Do not betray, do not be excessive, do not kill a newborn child." And he also said: "Whoever has killed a person having a treaty with the Muslims shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise.

The act of inciting terror in the hearts of defenseless civilians, the wholesale destruction of buildings and properties, the bombing and maiming of innocent men, women, and children are all forbidden and detestable acts according to Islam and the Muslims. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the vast majority have nothing to do with the violent events some have associated with Muslims. If an individual Muslim were to commit an act of terrorism, this person would be guilty of violating the laws of Islam. Please join us in this seminar. The following have been invited:
