[ALOCHONA] Cyclone Sidr: Call to Help Cyclone Afflicted Humanity

Dear Brothers & Sisters:
You must be aware of the recent cyclone in Bangladesh. As a matter of fact, Bangladesh is one of the most natural disaster prone countries. Within last few months, this cyclone is the third in the series of natural disaster of this year. There were two consecutive floods within a span of about 10 days that claimed lot of lives and wealth of this unfortunate nation before the recent cyclone. The nation was just healing and the economy was still struggling hard to recover from the loss until finally the cyclone has again given another big blow.

You have seen the devastating aftermath of the cyclone on the TV screens and print media. The actual scenario on the ground is 100 times worse that unless and until our own eyes see the cries, pains and sufferings of the afflicted people, we can't sense what has actually happened. Let me tell you the story of a person who lives in Bahrain and does a tiny job whom I just spoke to. This person could not contact any of his relatives until yesterday due to disruption of communication system after the cyclone. Now he has come to know to his surprise that he has lost one of his sisters leaving behind destitute kids who is among 700 other people so far identified in his own locality. All his families and families of close relatives have lost everything to the extent that they do not have a cup to drink a sip of water. Apart from the cruel human death calamities, the number of cattle died, the number of people seriously injured, the number of houses demolished and driven away are countless and the loss of properties is beyond imagination. People are literally living under sky and crying for food out of hunger, for water out of thirst, for medicine out of diarrhea and other post disaster sickness.

We are so fortunate to live a decent life with all the necessities of life within our reach. We could otherwise be one of these afflicted people. We should be grateful to Allah for all our pleasures in life. One way that we can be grateful to Him is to come up generously  and help the afflicted people. I have personally committed an amount that I can best afford and I shall be happy to collect and channel to right people if you would kindly like to contribute according to your means. Those who are not situated in Bahrain can find their own way to collect and channel the contributions to the right people. I shall be more than happy to guide you to find a right channel in your own country of residence. You may also pass on this e-mail to those that you think might be willing to contribute. May Allah bless all of us. Kind regards. Sincerely, Wohid
