[ALOCHONA] Internal democracy of our political prties

Dear Alochoks,

While all of us agreed that internal democracy of our political parties are of great importance for a credible and sustainable democracy in Bangladesh. However; I would like to emphasize one single issue to that effect -- which is the nomination process of our MP's. Election Commission can make it mandatory for parties that it should nominate it's MP's by conducting internal election and at least three months prior to election date. Party members who want to get nomination from their respective constituencies needs to be elected by party members first through an election process.

It will impact to minimize 1. Last minute drama of who is getting nomination through a so called "nomination interview" 2. Eliminate people who twist their minds at the last moment popularly known as Jogdan party 3. It will minimize the unhealthy trade(kena becha) of nomination and 4. Will minimize people to get nomination with illegal money, muscle man and bad candidates. This is very critical aspect of internal democracy.

Small steps like this can greatly impact our political culture and having a healthy democracy within the parties.
