During my long stay in the Western world I made many friends in the Jewish community but it was not very easy due to my Muslim name. This uneasy feeling towards the Muslims is well understood by me. A few years before an elderly Hasidic Jewish gentleman used to work with me and despite my very good and sustained efforts I could not make friendship with him. One day I asked him if he could lend me a copy of Torah to read. He declined by telling me that, you are a Muslim, why on earth you would read the Torah?" A few days later a local news paper reported that a Jewish cemetery has been desecrated by some vandals in Toronto and I wrote a letter to a news paper condemning this vandalism. My colleague read that and asked me if I were the writer. After that he gradually took me as his friend and he talked about me in his community.
The concern and fear we notice in the Jewish community is due to many reasons. The Jews are a very well knit small but highly successful community is historically shunned by the Christian and Muslims both on religious grounds. They have been persecuted, hounded, dogmatically abhorred and a determined effort was made to annihilate them. These facts are true and well recorded. This has created a deep sense of distrust in their mind and takes any slightest hints of enmity seriously. They have learned very hard lessons from history and are very careful not to allow them to be repeated. No minority in the world like the Jews faced such horrific persecution like the holocaust during the Nazi rule in Germany. This tragedy is a deep scar in the entire Jewish psyche and after so many years they are still being haunted by this memory which was deliberately done to exterminate the race in all the Nazi occupied Europe.
The holocaust is the staging ground for the whole Jewish community to chart their strategy for survival. They meticulously planned and executed their aims in the Western world. Their powerful grip of the financial markets and media helped them to consolidate their position by creating strong Jewish lobby's to serve their political aims to serve and protect Israel. Israel is not only a political entity for the Jews, its historic dream of a wandering people to claim them as a nation. This dedication led Israel to do many irresponsible things which are definitely questionable. They over reacted to many of the events related to them. The only logic they can forward to support their actions that they wanted to continue their survival as a sovereign nation. The name Israel is a pilgrimage for the Jews. Now the question of how they got that land is an academically important question but the reality of Israel can't be questioned. Since 1948 when Israel was created by the Balfour Declaration, Israel is there and this tiny mass of land nestling among the sworn Arab enemies has proved by all means that it can survive under all the eventualities. It's immaterial to ask how Israel did this miracle possible. If the United States helped to survive Israel one should be amazed how a handful of Jewish people could manipulate a super power to be at their side always.
Many people who criticise Israel are frustrated at their success. When the last Malaysian Prime Minister said that,' That the Jews are ruling the world by proxy,' that proved the success of this community as a world class manipulator. The Arab Israeli conflict would not have been there if the Arabs could show pragmatic attitude towards Israel rather that dreaming to push Israel to the sea. Ahmedinejad or Hamas are not serving the cause of the Palestinians rather they are prolonging their misfortune and suffering. But the other Arabs are slowly closing in to the reality but it's taking too much time.
