Re: [ALOCHONA] Babar, Hawa Bhaban okayed Aug 21 attack !!!

Thank you for this informative write-up on Aug 21 attack. I am not surprised that such crimes were approved by the top leadership of the then government. What is mind boggling is that in spite of so many crimes committed by BNP top leadership, the grassroots leaders and followers still blindly support these people. Even the educated ones do not scratch their heads. They should be working to reform their parties and systems to prevent such abuses, to allow for new ideas, new leaders.

The CTG should also share the blame in failing to bring political reforms. By focusing too much on "minus two" and lack of coherence, they have made Khaleda and Hasina into heroes amonst their already blind supporters.

But the people of Bangladesh are not blind - 2007 has shown that; it has taught a lesson to those who thought they own Bangladesh. If nothing else, future political parties will remember what happens when they go to extremes.

Subject: [ALOCHONA] Babar, Hawa Bhaban okayed Aug 21 attack !!!

A Dhaka court Friday remanded former BNP deputy minister Abdus Salam
Pintu for three days for further interrogation in a case involving
the grenade attack on an Awami League rally in Aug 21, 2004. The
grenade attack had been carried out with the consent of former state
minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar and 'Hawa Bhaban', Pintu was
quoted by a CID officer as saying. He will be grilled by the Task
Force Intelligence (TFI), investigation officer of the case, Fazlul
Kabir, said.

Shocking silence from the pseudo-religious-political groups and their
blind supporters on this matter is mind boggling. These people had
believed BNP-Jamaati propaganda for five years and they spread it to
wherever they went with utter conviction. Nijami told the media
after this barbaric incident, "Mossad is behind this attack." BNP
blamed foreign intelligence, implicitly RAW, through forming a one
man commission who was none but one of their stooges. They even
arrested few AL workers and a jobless Hindu graduate. Even barbaric
torture in remand could not produce anything from them. BNP-Jamaat
administration tried their best to cover up this enormous crime by
hurriedly destroying the unexploded grenades that were recovered from
the crime scene, by misguiding the foreign intelligence agencies, and
by staging a nasty drama with a central character called Jozz Miah.

The following links show how our so-called Islamic govt of BNP-Jamaat
coalition investigated this barbarism and spread misinformation:

Sometimes we see allergic reaction from some people when Indian govt
alleges that a few Bangladeshis are involved in terrorists activities
in India. The following link which is related to this topic shows how
some Bangladeshi terrorists really ended up in India:

There are remarkable similarities between BJP-Sivsena's current
Gujarat govt and the past BNP-Jamaat coalition govt. They are two
sides of the same coin, fascism.

I personally witnessed horrific reactions right after this incident.
Wherever I went, I had seen some of my highly educated friends and
relatives vehemently rallied behind their then-beloved Madam and
Jamaati pseudo-moulanas. Some of them did not have any doubt about
Hasina's involvement in this and could not hide their joy. "Why
didn't she die?" "How did she escape?" "Shafik Rehman in a jaijaidin
editorial article clearly showed who are really behind this." Only
sad part of this incident to them was it did not kill enough
opposition people. Now they are all eerily but understandably quiet.

Truth and justice are two giant pillars of Islam. I will end this
with two hadiths of Prophet (SA) to show how Islamic the BNP-Jamaat
govt was.

The Prophet (SA) was once asked about various actions which Islam
forbids and whether a believer may commit any of these. He said that
a believer may be guilty of such forbidden things as theft, adultery
and drinking intoxicants, but a believer cannot tell a lie. Telling a
lie is against the very concept of faith. Also the Prophet Muhammad
(SA) was asked: "Can a believer be a coward?" The Prophet
said: "Yes." He was then asked: "Can a believer be a miser?" He
replied: "Yes." And finally, he was asked: "Can a believer be a
liar?" The Prophet said: "No." (Al-Muwatta, Volume 56, Hadith 19.)

The Prophet (SA) said, "False testimony is similar to claiming that
God has partners (i.e., equivalent to shirk which is the biggest sin
in Islam)." (Baihaqi)

But the Jama'ati/Shibir spiritual guide and founding father Syed
Ab'ul Ala Maududi in page 54 of his "Tarjamanul Qura'an" said, "Truth
is one of the most important principles of Islam and lying is one of
the greatest sins. But in real life some needs are such that telling
a lie is not only allowed, in some circumstances it is decreed
mandatory". Go figure.
