At one stage, when the chief special Public Prosecutor Sharfuddin Ahmed Khan Mukul again tried to record further deposition of Azam J Chowdhury regarding his local agency of Russian power company, it also led to further noise in the courtroom.
As per schedule, the defence counsel was supposed to cross-examine Chowdhury yesterday after his deposition made in the court on January 30.
But, in a bid to fill up apparent 'lacuna' in Chowdhury's first day deposition, the prosecution seemingly tutored him to say that he personally went to Gulshan police station to file an FIR on June 13 last year, not June 10, as he stated in the first day's deposition.
As the court recorded further submission by Chowdhury, defence counsels deadly opposed the court's attitude and brought the allegation of being biased towards the prosecution. The defence lawyers said the court's attitude is unexpected and it would prejudice their clients.
The Judge, however, refuted the defence contention asking them to go through the record that says the complainant's deposition would continue. Disagreeing with the court, the defence said, "On Wednesday, you (judge) fixed today (Monday) for cross-examining the complainant (Chowdhury)."
The defence argued, "If your record states like this, then you have done it under the influence of the prosecution." The Judge sharply retorted, "No, no, no."
As the court declined to record the second part of Chowdhury's deposition, Mukul out of his anger shouted with raised fingers and said the court must hear what the prosecutor requires.
