Re: [mukto-mona] Re: newsweek cover story: When Barry Became Barack

You have made my day, Jahed. You have made me smile.  I am still smiling at you warmly.

Yes, I have in fact read what Obama is saying and he is saying what everyone wants to hear. But I didn't have to read anything to know that. I have heard it all many times before. Before I read anything, I could have written his speeches word for word. They displays an Oprah and company philosophy.

The content of speeches is not, however, the point. The point is how people respond to people who can speak well in public. The fact is some people would hail Obama if he spoke a foreign language.

Yes, actually, I feel the same way about all speeches. They are all meant to impress without the slightest regards to how or when the ideas could ever be implemented. Perhaps, the next step in the evolution of man will be to look at the savior phenomenon and rise above it!!

For millennia, individuals have been making good speeches. The "Sermon on the Mount" is an excellent example. What do good speeches ever achieve? Jesus' followers pay no regard to the "Sermon on the Mount"! Yet, it has gone down in history as a good speech las have "I Have a dream" and the "Gettysburg Address".

I am not campaigning against Obama. I am asking Obama's followers to understand that this guy is a man and only a man. If they understand that he is a man and will act like a man, then support him by all means. It is the blind faith that Obama is different and will do different things that is scary. The blind faith of followers is bound to have a negative impact on him, too, but that is a story for another time.

Ae ever,
Audrey

-Dear Audrey, without ever listening (not sure if you read them
though) to a speech, how would you even know what merits or demerits
it might have?

Also, what you have said w.r.t. Obama's speech (sugarcoated purely
for political purpose- which I would not deny completely), would you
think same of other historical speeches such as MLK's "I have a
dream", or Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg speech--to name only a few?

Regards,
Jahed
