The following are some suggestions for curbing the political militancy in Bangladesh.
1. Create independent Judiciary, Law and Order, and Election Commission (EC) administrations
2. Introduce registration for political parties with EC
3. Introduce open debates in the national TV to present political messages during election year
4. Public meetings during election year should be organized by the EC (not by individual
political groups), where all political parties will present their messages to the public; all political parties should subsidize
the cost of these events.
5. Public demonstrations should be limited to authorized designated areas only under tight security control (i.e. no street marches)
6. If there is any property damages resulting from a political demonstration, the party/organization should be liable to pay for
damages or lose their registrations to continue their activities
7. Ban all political groups/organizations in the educational institutions; students should be encouraged to participate in the
political processes through main political party activities outside the campus
8. Political murders should be investigated with the independent commision
