[mukto-mona] Some People of Bangladesh

When I grew up in Bengal (Remember?), I used the know the Santhalis as a group of people - men and women sinuously built solid with Black Stone (Kosti Pathar).  Their bodies specially of the women Santhalis without any modern cover as we know them as blouses were beautifully revealed than any painting I have ever seen even if it were from Jamini Roy.. Today after many years I saw on the television  a sophisticated educated, needless to say very beautiful, young Santhali girl contesting a music competition sponsored by a local (Dhaka) television channel.  I was pleasantly impressed by her assertion as a proud Santhali woman eager to preserve her heritage as subset withing the greater Bengali society and declaring proudly herself as a Bangladeshi.  Bangladesh rightly should be proud to have her and her community as a rich component of the kaleidoscopic Bangladeshi people.
