Some members of this forum are posting strongly opinionated comments by a certain Zaglul Hossain of UK. I'm not sure whether he is subscribed to ALOCHONA. We take it that the posters of Zaglul's comments are strong supporters of views expressed therein.
These cries of protest have been heard many times before. The frequency and familiarity of these cries have not, however, made them less hollow or less mischief-oriented.
What does this "US-Israeli-India axis" mean? Why is it hatching a conspiracy to destroy Bangladesh (which, despite its size in terms of sq. mileage, is a huge country)? What has Bangladesh done to this "US-Israeli-India axis" to deserve such a conspiracy, and what would the desirable end result be to this evil "axis" after the "destruction" of Bangladesh? Zaglul Hossain says that there were a few "good" people who opposed the conspirators at this conspiratorial meeting presided over by Lord Avebury, the conspirator. So, this conspiracy is no puny secret underground plot -- it is a pretty ferasome affair played out in the open, in the House of Lords, no less!
Yet the heading and the whole thrust of the Economist report is about the happenings in Bangladesh that has not received enough international attention. Note the following:
The unnoticed emergency:How Bangladesh's generals get away with it
From The Economist print edition Jul 2nd 2008
IN TERMS of foreign press coverage per head of population, probably no country in the world gets as raw a deal as Bangladesh. It has some 150m people. Yet if it features in the international media it tends to be either as the scene of an appalling natural disaster—flood or cyclone—or as the crucible for one of the great experiments in microcredit.
Its politics tend to be ignored. This is surprising, since it is a bastion of moderate Islam, which, like other moderate Muslim countries, such as Pakistan and Indonesia, has been prey to an extremist fringe.
India accuses it of harbouring groups plotting secession in its north-eastern states and, at times, of training terrorists who mount attacks elsewhere in India.Outside the subcontinent, however, few pay much attention. This is just as well for the "interim" administration, which took power in January 2007 with the backing of the army. The state of emergency it imposed then is still in force. This has allowed for some outrageous abuses.
It is a pity that this Mr Zaglul Hossain, who lives in the UK, the land of English-speaking people, has difficulty reading plain English. Next time I will post something to show who are actually destroying Bangladesh in even plainer English. This Economist report is merely hinting at it -- the nefarious relationship between the military and the Jamaati subversive and seditious elements in this nation. We should pay close attention to it.
