I am planning to vote for Obama in November. So, I certainly do not qualify to be part of 'the nose-busting anti-Obama crowd'.   However, Satinath Hussein Chowdhury, reminds me of Jogen Jinnah Mondal, who in the 1940s thought that his Muslim 'brothers' were better than the 'upper-caste' Hindus. Guess what, the 'brothers' did not only kick Mr. Chandal (I am indeed denigrating Mondal to Chandal for him) out of Pakistan, they have made his ancestral land Islamic (where it is a fair game to discriminate against the non-Muslims, treat them as less than the Muslims, and evict them from their land, and to Islamize the state).   No, I actually do not believe in the concept of people belonging by birth to groups like "chandal" and "upper-caste." I used the denigration "Chandal" on Mr. Mondal to strongly state that it was foolish and unwitty of him to join the hate-group of the Muslim League. Mind it, Mr. Mondal had to seek refuge in the India (which was dominated by the so-called upper-caste Hindus) to save himself from the rulers of Pakistan, which he helped to create.   The Pakistan experience (including Bangladesh, which is an outcome of the 1947 Pakistan) over the last sixty years suggests that the so-called 'dalits' and the minority Muslims of India do not belong in the same category. According to the Pakistan experience/experiment, the former is likely to be deprived by the latter, given the opportunity. Thus, the Dalit-Muslim union could lead toward a greater Muslim world, not toward a greater just world.   Sukhamaya Bain
