Dear Dr. Roy,
I remember that once Khalil Gibran said,"Be aware of that man whose God lives in the sky". Thinking God as a different entity stops us from pursuing an intellectual assault to untangle the mystery of this creation. The blame what this assumed God bear for all the ills we suffer is a proof of our inability to fathom the intricate ways this physical world works. I am very much perplexed at Tagore's idea of God or Jeevan Devata. Such a huge towering personality like him definitely had some vision of that reality in his own self. That's what is naturally expected from a sage like person with so much of intellect and devotion. But the way he exposed his mind did hint to an entity he believed outside his own self. When he says,Tomar duar kholar dhoni oye jey bajey, or tomar khola hawa lagiye paley tukro korey kachi ami dubtey raji achi, etc.
