[mukto-mona] Prof I K Shukla is no more

 
I blame myself for being inordinately late in knowing that Prof I K Shukla had his mundane innings ended in the last week of September. He was suffering from cancer in the throat region and was expecting that his end was near. In his last e mail to me he wrote he was just surviving.

An uncommonly erudite, his coinages like 'saffro-nazi'. depth of knowledge of history and politics and easy analysis drew me like many to his magnetic scholasticism. But I never spoke to him or saw him. My contact with him was through e mails.
He used to write often in Mainstream until a few years back but used to write for Frontier almost regularly.

Sadly enough,  I didn't find any obituary about him.
