Assalamu Alaikum.No serious scholar in the world has said that Muslims praying in the direction of Macca or Kabah is a kind of idol worshipping.Quran itself says that the directionof east or west it self has no , the true merit lies in the true faith and good deeds.The direction has been prescribed only for unity of purpose.(sura baqarah)
In our prayer, we begin by saying Allahu Akbar and then the Quran is recited, sitting and postures are all done l, in the name of Allah.
