Hajj(pilgrimage) was a pagan(Jahil) tradition. The spice traders, male and
female, had to drop their clothes off and circumbulate around the
Hajre-Aswad to re-invigorate their sexual prowess. The tradition remained
with slight improvisation, as the Prophet would not forbid the chief source
of income of the Meccans. Hajj in the Jahil days was essentially sex
tourism. I wonder if the same sawab can be achieved by visting a massage
parlor. The poor Bangladeshis could save hundreds of million dollars by
changing the habit.
