RE: [mukto-mona] Latest Election update

Dear Farida:

Thanks for your comments and reference but you should also remember the mass people who voted for Awami league all are not awamileague activists. So this unprecedented victory is really challenging for Bangladesh Awamileague; they must remember what they said or committed before election. If they do reverse, definitely same thing will happen for Awamileague what happened for BNP now. One thing I can tell if they start playing with Islam, definitely darkness will come for Awamileague. They must respect all religions equally. Awamileague government should do some rehabilitation livelihood projects for freedom fighters because I have seen freedom fighters pulling rickshaw, begging and living helpless in older home(Gazipur) and in various areas in the country. Sheikh Hasina should implement his father's(BANGUBANDHU) dream to build a golden Bangladesh. She should not be biased by anyone. Same record for anti liberation war we don't want to listen, we should take lesson form 1971 and build a Bangladesh free from poverty, terrorism and corruption. Sheikh Hasina should be a big hearted leader to build a better Bangladesh. She should remember, Today's position is made by the poor people of the country who voted for her alliance. One thing was in their mind that Hasina government will reduce the price of essential commodities. This should be kept in mind, second thing is corruption and terrorism should be eradicated, thirdly employment generation. Hasina government should not find out now who is Razakar or Muktizoddah, this is absolutely complicated and controversial issues now, because it is difficult to find out real Muktizoddha if they poke their nose into this, they will be deviated from their commitment and development because the duration is only 5 years but they have lot of things to do for the poor people of the country.

AS Hasina got more than two third majority of the parliament, she must be submissive and accountable to the people of the country, this submissive attitude will help her to be a great leader like Sonia in India .

Many thing I wrote sorry for that;

A great relief indeed to see the bunch of Jamaati jackals -- and that Satan-incarnate Amini -- kept out of the Parliament. Almighty Allah has helped them from committing 'shirk' i.e. becomiing 'lawmakers' which would have made them compete with "Allah'r ain."

I am not unmindful though of the no. of votes received by the Jamaat.  There is an increase in this number from previous elections.  Even one Jamaat seat in the JS is worrisome. Even a toehold there keeps alive their power to hold the country in thrall of Islamization.

If leopards can change spots, it would be nice to see how Ershad could be persuaded to a vote in the Parliament to repeal his own handiwork -- the most audacious, unconstitutional installation of a State Religion.

For those who think that having a State Religion is not a fascist practice, I would urge them to look up Catholic Chruch's role in Germany and Austria in 1930s and during WWII. There has never been a State Religion in the history of Bengal or anywhere in India.

Ajoy-da should be thanked for his work on Sampriti Mancha. It was good to see some non-Muslim winners within mainstream constituencies.

Let us see how the transfer of power unfolds.

Subject: Latest Election update

Dear muktomonas,

Here is the latest election update. The Great alliance led by Aami League is heading towards a big election victory. The alliance has already obtained absolute majority in the parliament seats to form a new government. Here is the latest election result:

Grand Alliance: 168 seats

4-Party alliance: 18 seats

Independent & others 3 seats

In other seats Grand alliance is well ahead of its nearest rival. The AL leader Sheikh Hasina called upon her followers to keep themselves calm and sober in the coming victory. She has further asked her followers not bring out victory processions prematurely.

The present victory for AL led alliance not out of love of AL or its alliance, but the people have never forgotten the ill administration of BNP government for their cruelty. Corruption and sympathy for fundamentalism and association with war criminals.  The people gave a slap on the cheek of Khaleda. Excepting her personal victory all her most stalwarts have been defeated.

The most assertive and interesting fact is that voters have buried the Jamatis and thank god all Jamatis are facing defeats except the lone victory of a Jamat in Chittagong.

Let us rejoice for this. People have given their verdict against fundamentalism and war crimes, now it is the solemn duty of the incoming government to try the war criminals.

Another feature of the election that no major incidents of violence directed against minorities was visible except some stray cases here and there. Not a single polling booth was suspended for violence, gross violation of election rules etc. It is a novel achievement on the part of the Election Commission and the Government machinery. .

As expected the loosing BNP-alliance leader accused the care taker government and election commission for failure of holding a free and fair election she has brought in charges of election engineering aiming to put non-BNP parties to power. And in the process, she accused involvement of not only Caretaker government and election commission but even the army. She failed to see her past records and present behaviour.

Regards to MMs
