[ALOCHONA] Dhaka Mayor Election, NRBs are in frontline?

Bengali are so emotional, never know the truth and jump 5 ft ht

I am not defending anyone here but what is disturbing is that Bengali are emotional and don't wait to jump 5 ft high without any reason. If this character is not abandoned, more bad news will come soon.

People should take their responsibilities for their action. What Khalida Zia is not helping when she sits with most corrupt people around her in front of the press release. Just my advise to her.

If Mr. Irad is competent Candidate he should be given a chance like few more NRBs who are interested in the Dhaka City Mayor election under AL in June 2009.

I would urge general people in Dhaka to give an opportunity to NRB to serve them as a Mayor.  I always a firm believer of good and competent blood infusion in Bangladesh politics including NRBs.

I am planning to name a NRB candidate for the upcoming Dhaka Mayor Election soon!

Regards,

Tanvir terms son's comments unwarranted, unfortunate

UNB, DhakaBNP leader Chowdhury Tanvir Ahmed Siddiqui has termed unfortunate and shocking his son's comments about BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

"What Irad said about Begum Zia was a misperception. What he has said is not correct. I myself took him to madam (Khaleda)," Tanvir told reporters at his Motijheel office this afternoon.

On Monday, his son Chowdhury Irad Ahmed Siddiqui at a press briefing alleged that Khaleda Zia wanted Tk 5 crore from him for BNP ticket to contest the DCC mayoral election.

Tanvir Siddiqui in categorical terms said Begum Zia never ever demanded money from any one, not even Irad.

"I'm shocked at his remarks about Khaleda Zia. I strongly protest his (Irad) remarks. I can't take the responsibility of what he has said," Tanvir Siddiqui said.

Irad also made critical remarks about Mirza Abbas, Sadek Hossain Khoka, Mosaddeq Ali Falu, Brig Gen (retd) Hannan Shah, late Mohammad Hanif and Abdul Awal Minto.
Tanvir also disowned Irad's comments about these persons, saying they are all his good friends.

"Irad is from new generation. He should not say like this. I disown his remarks," Tanvir said.

He admitted that the unwarranted incident took place in front of him and he is extremely shocked along with BNP leaders and workers of the country.
Asked whether he would resign from the BNP standing committee, Tanvir said "Solid gold cannot be impure."

He told a correspondent that BNP is his first and last party.

Tanvir asserted that whatever smokescreen is created with Khaleda Zia will not be successful.
