[mukto-mona] Automobile Crazy CPM Buggies- Sankar Roy

" West Bengal chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee & Commerce & Industry minister Nirupam Sen, both CPI(M) polit bureau member, boasted of a line-up of automobile projects by big business (includng MNCs). On 4 March last ,some newspapers carried a news that  no 2 in the CPI(M) PB Sitaram Yechury wrote to the stopgap Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee as head of a parliamentary panel, to grant Rs 38000 crore loan to Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland (Indian arm of British MNC) and Eichers.

They are not concerned of silent genocide that has already affected major metros, the most menacing being in Kolkata.

Statesnab.s Sunday Mag -8th Day- carried a piece on this which is pasted below.

SR "

Very much correct.
CPM is crazy not only to make Kolkata the top polluted city in India but also it made Kolkata a dyeing city. Once Rajiv Gandhi addressed Kolkata as a 'dyeing city' and the CPM violently protested Rajiv Gandhi's statement.Due to CPM's 'Inquilab Zindabad'- ism so many companies turned up their works and offices from Kolkata and many companies had been closed for ever.Technical professionals and construction workers migrated to other states of India to get jobs.
In the tenure of CPM no industry been set up in West Bengal and lastly Buddhadev understood Jyoti Basu's devastating policy for Bengal and he tried to set up Tata's Nano Car factory in West Bengal. But he was unsuccessful due to Mamata's protest. So Nano shifted from Bengal and set up its factory to Gujarat.
CPM is playing the vote bank game with the commoners of West Bengal and it had understood how to be in power. It increased the salary of school teachers in two folds, it increased the salary of State Government employees, it creates jobs in schools, it had given general relief of 10 K.G. rice to the students before their annual examination, it introduced mid-day mill to primary schools, it had financed the poor to built bath rooms and latrines, it had financed to built madrasas and mosques. It had made laws to distribute the lands of the farm workers who had worked continuously for more than 3 years in any farm even the owners were different. The migrated people from Bangladesh were given ration cards as quickly as possible and they are bought permanently by the CPM Party for votes. l So in this way CPM are in power for more than 30 years in West Bengal.
In past some Mr. Gokhle said, "What Bengal thinks today, India thinks it tomorrow. "
Now the situation is reverse. What India thinks today, Bengal thinks it after one decade. All metros in India had made the public transport propelled by Liquified Natural Gas(LNG) except Kolkata.
Recently I went to Kolkata and my eyes were burning when I was walking on the street. Some time I was feeling suffocation even. I did not find a single dust bin to throw my empty water bottle.
This is Kolkata now.
...And the Bengalis are proud of it.
