NE militant camps still exist in Bangladesh Despite the change of guard in Bangladesh, a few hideouts of North East insurgent groups still exist in that country, said Director General of BSF ML Kumawat. Kumawat, who arrived here on April 23 to take stock of the situation along the Indo-Bangla border, said that the BDR has taken solid action against the Indian ultras hiding in Bangladesh since the Awami League assumed power. The present government in Bangladesh is very cooperative in dealing with the insurgents, he said while addressing a press conference at Salbagan, headquarters of BSF Tripura Frontier here on Saturday. According to Sinlung News Kumawat said that BDR authorities were also requested to act against the Indian rebel leaders sheltering in Bangladesh. But still, a few hideouts of insurgents are operational in the neghbouring country. Pakistani intelligence agency ? ISI is helping the anti-Indian forces there, he said refusing to elaborate on the matter.In the wake of the Mumbai carnage, the Centre has decided to strengthen the border vigil along the 4,096 km Indo-Bangla border. Giving details about the plan, he said that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned a project to arrange flood-lights along the 718 km Indo-Bangla border.This will certainly help the BSF jawans to ensure full-proof border guard along the border, he said adding that the number of Border Out Posts (BOPs) would also be increased from 206 to 245 within next three years in the Tripura Frontier. Regarding BDR mutiny in the neighbouring country, Kumawat said that the BSF role was praised by the BDR authority.We had rendered all possible help to our Bangladeshi counterpart whatever they wanted from us, he said. Kumawat also voiced concern over the existence of terror infrastructure in Pak Occupied Kashmir (POK).Training of terrorists and launching pads of insurgent groups remain active even after the Mumbai carnage (26/11), he said.He admitted that Pakistan had made heavy reinforcement in its territory after the Mumbai carnage.
