You are obsessed with your BAL. I am not talking about employment generated for women in the public sector exclusively by the AL governments. My point was that you have distorted Sen.

I hope it still has reserved quota for women. In addition to govt. sector, private businesses excluding NGOs also have a big share in employment generation for women.
>>>>>>>>> I agree that, private sector is also a major driver of Bangladeshi achievements. However the government sector is just pathetic. Do understand I am NOT criticizing BAL here, it is the whole set up of corruption, inefficiency and nepotism.
There are some honest people suffering in between but it is pretty close to a broken down for most government department.
If you take a good look at the banking sector (Where government and tax payers pay for massive corruption) and private banking sector (It has corrutption but no subsidy is needed to correct it). In fact private banking sector, telecom sector pay huge sums to government as tax money.
Just look at Sonali Bank and Grameen bank (NGO) balance sheet, you will get the picture.
With all due respect, you are not probably not aware of the level of looting that goes on in WASA, DESCO (Electric supply), Titas (Gas) and most of the government institutions we have top rely on. Telecom is the only saving grace where we were hostage to corruption but rescued by foreign private companies.
I have heard of many bitter stories and have personal experience of open looting of these departments. So please what I am saying is real, it is NOT some pie in the sky dream land. It is today's Bangladesh (Unfortunately).
Shalom!

Mr. RahmanBy dropping the word :shudhu" you have distorted Sen's remark in a self-fulfilling manner.Govt. sector generates huge employment for women. I hope it still has reserved quota for women. In addition to govt. sector, private businesses excluding NGOs also have a big share in employment generation for women.

>>>>>>>>>> yes, we need to leave these NGOs alone to do some work. Since most of our administration have lost focus from Bangladesh.Shalom! -----Original Message-----From: Muhammad Ali <man1k195709@yahoo.com> To: undisclosed recipients: ; Sent: Sun, Jul 21, 2013 5:19 pm Subject: [mukto-mona] Fw: [KHABOR] চমকে দেওয়ার মতো সাফল্য আছে বাংলাদেশের - গার্ডিয়ানকে অমর্ত্য সেন
