This unnamed 'German Muslim Scholar' is total bonkers. The 1st World War and 2nd World War were political war, not religious wars or war of terrorism. People of all religions were involved in both sides of these World Wars.
Terrorism is implicated when someone perpetrates atrocities against other people, mostly innocent people, for his or her cause. That cause is quite often the religious cause and in overwhelmingly large number of cases Islam is involved. Of course, Judaism and Christianity are also occasionally involved. The ex-president of USA, George W Bush can also be called a terrorist as he waged Crusade' against Iraq. Terrorism and Islam are now intricately linked - whether that 'German Muslim Scholar' understands it or not.
