You probably know the answer but I will try to give my two cents about the Israeli and Palestinian recent fighting. Palestinians deserve world's sympathy and yet, they are not getting the support that they truly deserve. One cardinal point is that Muslim countries are habitually bad and cruel to their own minorities. The proof is in the pudding! When non Muslim minorities are attacked and ethnically cleansed in many parts of the world including Indian subcontinent, Middleast and Africa, nobody makes a sound. Muslim countries rather talk about converting and wiping out the religious minorities as some kind of religious duty. How can you expect these infidels to support the Palestinian cause, which to many non-Muslims is rather a radical Muslim cause. How do you change the mindset? Muslims hate others so let Muslims fight a bigger bully like Israel or US??
Noam Chomsky and Arundhuti Roy have lost the touch with the global reality and that is why they do not get any more traction that they used to get in the past. If they were little more balanced and even handed, they would have had far more clout of their liberal agenda. But that is not to be.
I would not blame Mukto-mona moderator much for the apathy about the Palestinian problem. People simply got tired of the problem. Something needs to give here! Nobody is wiping out anybody and a dialogue needs to start ASAP with no preconditions from any side.

হামাস এবং ইসরায়েল এর মধ্যে মরনপন যুদ্ধ চলছে । নিরপরাধ মানুষ অবর্ণনীয় কষ্টে মারা যাচ্ছে । সারা বিশ্ব জুড়ে প্রতিবাদে মানুষ রাস্তায় নেমেছে । অথচ মুক্তমনাতে তার কোন প্রতিক্রিয়া লক্ষ্য করা যাচ্ছে না। যেখানে নয়াম চমস্কির মত ব্যাক্তি ইসরায়েলের বিরুধে মুখ খুলেছেন সেখানে মুক্তমনা নিরব কেন? মনে হয় এর জন্য মুক্তমনার মোডারেটর কিছুটা দায়ী । কিছুদিন আগে একজন লেখক (নিলয় নীল) একটি লেখা দিয়েছিল । কিন্তু একজন আপত্তি জানাতেই মোডারেটর লেখাটা তুলে নিলেন । যদি সে আপত্তিকর কিছু লিখে থাকে তা হলে যুক্তির জাল বিস্তার করে তাকে ধরাশায়ী করা যেত । কোন বিষয়ে আপত্তিকর কিছু থাকলে লেখকের অনুমতি নিয়ে সেই অংশটা তুলে নেওয়া যেতে পারত ।কিন্তু লেখাটাই তুলে নেয়া হল। ফল হল যে আর কেউ এই স্পর্শকাতর বিষয়ে কোন লেখা দিচ্ছে না । এও কি এক ধরনের মৌলবাদ ? যেখানে কোন লেখা মন মত না হলেই তুলে নিতে হবে ।
সংবাদ মাধ্যমে যা দেখছি – শুনছি তাতে মনে হয় দুপক্ষই জেনিভা চুক্তি লঙ্ঘন করছে । ইসরায়েল নিরাপরাধ মানুষ হত্যা করছে । অপর দিকে হামাস সাধারন মানুষকে ঢাল হিসাবে ব্যবহার করছে । লক্ষ্য করে দেখুন প্রধানত মুসলিম জনগন ইসরায়েলের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ করছে। অন্য দেশ গুলো মোটামুটি নীরব । ভিয়েতনাম যখন মার্কিন সাম্রাজ্যবাদের বিরুদ্ধে লড়াই করছিল তখন কিন্তু অনেক দেশ ভিয়েতনামের পক্ষে ছিল । কিন্তু এখন সবাই যেন জল মাপছে । কারন কি ? মধ্যপ্রাচ্যে যে তৈল সম্পদ আছে তাতে মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্র এবং ইউরপিও দেশগুলো মালিকানা ভোগ করছে । তারা চায় মুসলিম দেশগুলো নিজেদের মধ্যে মারামারি করুক তাতে তাদের স্বার্থ সুরক্ষিত থাকবে। আর দেখুন ঐ দেশ গুলোও সেই ফাঁদে পা দিয়েছে। ঐ দেশ গুলো যদি ধর্মের নামে লড়াই না করে জাতীয়তাবাদ দিয়ে লড়াই করত তা হলে অনেক দেশ তাদের পাশে থাকতো । আর এই ধর্মীয় উগ্রতা দিয়ে সব দেশে লড়াই করতে গিয়ে সবার সমর্থন হারিয়েছে।
আবার দেখুন যখন বকো হারাম অনেক গুলো মেয়েকে তুলে নিয়ে গেল এবং ISIS যখন অন্য ধর্মাবলম্বীদের হত্যা করে তাদের নারীদের অপহরন করে নিয়ে গেল তখন আজকের প্রতিবাদকারীরা নিরব থাকে । সব মিলিয়ে পরিস্থিতি বেশ জটিল । আমি এই ব্যাপারে সবার মতামত আহ্বান করছি ।
