Re: [mukto-mona] Thousand and One Muslim Inventions That Shaped the World

Scientific investigations and ideas would have destroyed the concept of the powerful Islamic God. Given the choice, Islam chose a non-scientific path and the results is rather apparent and obvious. Gods and Science are simply not made for each other. A Godless spirituality might be compatible with scientific temperament but simply believing in God and its creations stops all the human curiosity. Islam has been a business like all other religions but its subscribers are rather being caged and not allowed to question... because the threat of loosing their necks.

I am not sure why Farida gets so excited about these Islamic inventions now? Can Islam bring back its glorious days by believing more in God? What a gullible idea!.

Glorious scientific inventions were made in the medieval Islamic years, but such scientific innovations also remarkably halted prematurely in the Islamic world? What happened? Could someone explain that?
In contrast, Christian and Jewish scientists kept going non-stop even after the Western scientific renaissance giving amazing discoveries for centuries. This is the question Muslims need to ask to themselves, in my view.

The 'Thousand and One Inventions' exhibition currently being showcased in the UK turns the spotlight on the golden era of Islamic civilization highlighting its scientific temperament and achievements and its contribution to Western renaissance.
A number of inventions were made in the medieval Islamic world, a geopolitical region that has at various times extended from Spain and Africa in the west to Afghanistan and the Indian subcontinent in the east.
