The Liberal Democratic Party led by former president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Monday announced that the party would continue doing politics under the banner of Bikalpadhara Bangladesh.

‘From now on our party activities will be carried out under the banner of Bikalpadhara Bangladesh,’ BDB secretary general Abdul Mannan, who was also the secretary general of the LDP faction, said in a news release on Monday.

He claimed most of the party leaders, including Badruddoza, approved the plan to revive Bikalpadhara Bangladesh.

Baduruddoza will remain the party president and Abdul Mannan the secretary general, BDB insiders said. Baduruddoza had declared the Bikalpadhara Bangladesh defunct at a function on October 26, 2006, when a section of BNP leaders, including its standing committee member Oli Ahmed, left BNP and joined hand with BDB leaders to form the LDP.
