Dhaka, Nov 14 (bdnews24.com)— BNP central office reopened at 10:20 am Wednesday for use by its leaders and workers after a 10-month shutdown since promulgation of the emergency rule, as the metropolitan BNP leaders Sadek Hossain Khoka and Abdus Salam entered the office.
Anticipating that the central office would be reopened, hundreds of the party leaders and workers assembled at the venue since early morning. As a result, traffic movement has almost halted in Paltan and adjacent Motijheel areas.
Up to 400 police personnel and plainclothes policemen were deployed in Naya Paltan prior to opening the BNP Headquarters.
Abdus Salam, general secretary of BNP metropolitan unit told bdnews24.com that their office remained closed for a long time due to misunderstanding among the partymen and now they would use the office as before as a united political front.
