Assalamu Alaikum.This is a reasonable analysis, even if we do not agree on some aspects.The core issues in my judgement are as follows:-
1.The West must accept Muslim presence as they went there to meet their shortage of work force.In USA they went as immigrants as all others there, they are in the same boat.
2 All their rights including their religious rights have to be recognized.The local government there in many places even do not tolerate headscarf , how we can be sure then that they will accept other rights.
3 The concept of laicete in France has no legal or constitutional basis , so this should not be forced on the Muslims.
4 It is true that Islam is not based on any regional culture but there is no doubt there is a core Islamic culture based on its teachings.It has teken local colour in every Muslim country and so local forms will develop in some respects in the Western countries also.
5.In my country The western people always speak of the identity and culture of indigenous people of Chittagong Hill Tract and the need for protecting these to which most of us agree.The same scholars and governments in the West in many places and cases do not heartily accept multi-culturalism in respect of Muslims
