[mukto-mona] Uncertainty over Tata's Singur project

 
The Tata Motors Limited may downsize the CPI(M)-hyped Rs one lakh car project at Singur in West Bengal. Mumbai-based fortnighly,Business India, wrote in its latest issue (December 30, 2007), "according to grapevine, Tata Motors is considering shifting the plant to Dharwad  in Karnataka, although rumours abound about the plant being moved to Pantnagar in Uttaranchal Pradesh, - where it has a new facility to make its ACE mini-truck".

A section of legal luminaries reportedly says that the PIL on land acqusition procedure may go against the TML and state government.
