Whether it is artefacts or a penny, for God's sake, stop stealing!

The disappearance of Vishnu statuettes from Zia highlighted the lack of security in Zia. The lack of security is a matter of concern for the passengers who use this airport. It is a matter of concern for the airlines that operate flights to and from Zia. It is also a matter of great concern for the countries that have direct air links with Dhaka. There is no way to bypass this concern.

About sending of the artefacts to France, many in the country were extremely apprehensive of their safety and of their safe return. Before being sent two are already lost at the airport. There certainly is something very creepy about it. Despite people's resistance why did the inept authority venture to send those national treasures? There must be an immediate and thorough inquiry into it to find the missing artefacts and to punish the criminals, including the officials found irresponsible.

Cultural affairs adviser Ayub Quadri has said he is considering resignation after the loss of two rare artefacts. Quadri said: 'It's me who must take the responsibility as the head of the cultural affairs ministry for the lost artefacts.' We are saddened and request the adviser to change his mind as he is not personally responsible for such a great loss.

In consideration of the theft of valuable artefacts at Zia International Airport, adviser Ayub Quadri has offered to resign taking full responsibility for the mismanagement. This is exactly what is expected from a person of his stature and position.
But alas! Can we expect from anyone the same degree of responsibility, courage and professionalism in the case of the recent unwanted, unwarranted deaths of a dozen innocent workers in the Rangs Building? Never!
