Hajj is the fifth pillar of Islam. A number of conditionalities has to be fulfilled to be qualified for performing Hajj. I am not sure whether Hajj is faraz for both Mr Moen U Ahmed and Mr Fakruddin Ahmed. For example, any body wishes to perform Hajj has to support his or her distant relatives before going to Mekkah. The list is really long. As millions of Bangladeshis are impoverished and both of them are the caretakers of the nation, they are supposed to fulfill the requirements of these millions before performing Hajj, Have they satisfied the needs of their relatives (both close and distant), and even neighbours? Performing Hajj for any political motives is not accepted in Islam.

Army Chief General Moeen U Ahmed and other members of the CA's entourage also performed Umrah with the head of caretaker government and joined the munajat, according to a message received here last night.
Fakhruddin went to Mina at noon yesterday and would stay over there until Tuesday Fazr prayers.
The CA and his entourage will leave Mina this morning for Arafat Maidan to perform the main rituals of Hajj.
