Engr A N H Akhter Hussain, Vice President of EAB (an organisation of the BNP minded engineers) is sentenced to ten years imprisonment for amassing wealth beyond known sources of his income

 

Corrupt Engr. Mahmudur Rahman (Ex Adviser & son in law of BNP MP Munnu)) is President of the EAB and

 

Tuhin (cousin of Tareq Zia) is the General Secretary of the EAB, he is also convicted for corruption by this government.

 

 

A special court yesterday sentenced former Power & Electricity Secretary & BNP leader (Vice President of EAB, the organisation of BNP minded engineers) Engr. A N H Akhter Hossain to ten years imprisonment for amassing wealth beyond known sources of his income and concealing wealth information. He was downgraded to Senior Deputy Secretary from Secretary after 1-11 and then he tried to flee from Bangladesh and caught at airport. The court sentenced Akhter's wife Nazneen Banu (who is now absconding), to three years imprisonment for abetting her husband in amassing the illegal wealth.

 

According to case, Engr. A N H Akhter Hossain obtained wealth worth Tk 2 crore 23 lakh illegally by abusing power and concealed information about Tk 80 lakh in a statement submitted to the ACC earlier. The court also ordered confiscation of the illegally acquired property of Engr. A N H Akhter Hossain.
