Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and New Jersey senator Bob Menendez, two leading immigrant politicians, have thrown their support for Hillary Clinton. Please tell them NOT to support a candidate who took a fiercely anti-immigrant position.
Recently, Hillary Clinton expressed her strong opposition against granting driver's license to hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants. In states like California or New Jersey (Villaraigosa and Menendez's states), without a driver's license, that means death: one can't simply make ends meet.
Hillary Clinton, an ex-lawyer, also supported measures to deport these immigrant workers without any possibility of a trial or access to lawyers, measures that completely go against the established traditions of the U.S. judicial system. Her position is tantamount to supporting H.R. 4437, the now-infamous and doomed anti-immigrant Sensenbrenner bill.
Hillary Clinton's rabidly pro-war stance and her serving as a lawyer on Wal-Mart's advisory board have been purely hypocritical, and antithetic to what she and husband preach. One might also remember that it was during the Clinton regime the U.S. welfare system was destroyed, leaving millions of poor families -- mostly Blacks and Latinos -- in ruins. Bill Clinton was also behind the horrific IIRAIRA, the fiercely anti-immigrant act that took away many precious rights from immigrants.
Let's NOT vote for Hillary Clinton. Ask Villaraigosa and Menendez as well as our Latino brothers and sisters NOT to support Hillary's hypocrisy.
