This is not the first time that Mr.S.A.Hannan has declined
to participate in an open debate because he knows that blind faith can't face
the realities. This is unfortunate as well as dangerous too for any purportedly
educated person to stick to the fables of religion to deliberately corrupt and
derail the process of enlightenment. Fear can't face facts this has been proved
many times. The posterity will hold these ignorant people responsible for the
harm they have caused and are causing to the society. Hassan Mahmood is doing a
valiant job by unmasking these fearful hypocrites. We have rain and meteors
from the heavens but no moral guidance. There was a time when ignorance reigned
supreme and a few enlightened tried to impose reason putting a stamp from the
heavens to persuade the ignorant to follow. The dark night of ignorance was too
long for the mankind which has made a very powerful impact on the human mind.
The human race is still largely under the impression that the promised
deliverance will come from the heavens and we have to open a window from
another perspective which is governed by reason and rationality. The conflict
and confusion which perturbs us all is due to the persistence of ignorance
which still commands a vast majority of us to ignore the rule of reason. In the
realm of intellectual business blind faith is not an acceptable commodity. If I
can't question without fear I am a prisoner of some unknown evil. The synthesis
of all the enlightened effort is to remove that unknown evil to bask in the
open field of freedom.
We have to admit that religion does not bring enlightenment
only reason can usher that cherished epoch. The thrust towards knowledge can't
be generated by any angel rather it's our determination which can create that
momentum. The element of fear which is an integral part of any religion is not
an option for any thoughtful person to pursue the virtue of goodness rather
it's an immovable obstacle in the way to enlightenment. We all need to
understand and appreciate this truth. Preaching religion in the traditional
form is to maintain the bridge between knowledge and ignorance
