Dear Bulbul Amir,
The saying from Epicurus, a Greek philosopher, is an exercise in the
use of rhetoric. It is an attempt at speaking to believers in their
language, using imagery that they would normally use in order to make
them understand the flaws in their beliefs.
I am an atheist, write on atheist matters and am always happy to enter
into a rigorous argument with religionists. Posting Epicurus is one way
of initiating that process.
