Dear Dr. Manning:
I take that Obama is not in your list of favorite politicians. This
is your prerogative; however, I take issue with your statement - "I
stand by every word I said about the messiah politics of Obama."
I don't think you follow closely what is going on in Washington DC.
The latest news is that among all 100 senators it was only Obama who
suggested that in the aftermath of sub prime loan debacle the U.S.
Congress should pass legislation to tightly control the lending
institutions so that sub prime lending never happens again. Do you
know who was behind the passing of a legislation that allowed this
debacle to happen? Probably not. It was Senator Phil Gramm
(Republican-Texas) who is the vice-chairperson of Senator McCain's
campaign for president. Phil Gramm is no longer the senator who is
now working as a lobbyist for banking industry. Talk about
impropriety of a mega scale!
Now that Obama is proposing to do away with the sub prime landing,
Hillary Clinton and other senators are now on the bandwagon. Now Dr.
Manning, is this a glaring example of being a "messiah politics of
Obama"?
I have been very carefully reading some of your posts but decided to
remain silent. Please give up your chitchat style of making hyperbole
in this forum vis-à-vis Farida Majid and her comments. Please be
more objective when you feel like making your comments. No more of
making comments based on reductionism. All of your assertions should
be backed by authoritative and valid reference.
