I have pondered the philosophy of personal attacks for a very long time.
I used to think that the best way to deal with such attacks was to
ignore them. They don't bother me, so why should others be bothered?
However, recently, I have had a change of heart on the subject. How
can one change if one is completely unaware of the impact of one's
words?
My new stance is that every time we see someone write mean things
about another person we must draw attention to it. Some individuals
will see the error of their words, others will not. But it is
important to try to enlighten.
Anyway, those are my present feelings, which are subject to change.
