Jacqui Smith Echoes Condi Rice on Terrorism in Bangladesh

British Home Secretary Jacqui Smith on her three-day visit to Bangladesh said on 9 April 2008, "Yes, there is a potential linkage between terrorists in Britain and terrorists in Bangladesh", the daily New Nation reported today (10 April 2008). She avoided the questions on evidence and specification, and no wonder she used the word 'potential', a hypothetical position on a very serious question. Replying to the press, she said that they agreed with the US analyses about Huji-B as 'potential' threat.
President Bush and his allies destroyed Afghanistan and Iraq on charges of 'potential' threat. The shreds of evidences that they produced were not tenable to impartial observers, who questioned the merit of the evidences, and also to many others, who produced various conspiracy theories or supported them.
According to estimates of London based ORB (Opinion Research Business), an independent opinion poll agency, the total number of deaths in Iraq war, since the US led invasion of Iraq in 2003, is over 1.2 million, the total number of injured is over 2 million and the total number of homeless is several million. If this is not genocide, what is? But it is very unlikely that President Bush and his allies in the UK or elsewhere in the world would be in the dock on charges of war crimes.
President Truman did not face any charges of war crimes for Hiroshima and Nagasaki (On August 6 and 9, 1945, the sleeping cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed by the first atomic bombs used in warfare. It was President Truman, who ordered the bombings). Nor did any of the US administrations face any charges for killing tens of millions of people and creating havoc in the lives of many more millions throughout the world in pursuit of their imperialist conspiracies for domination and plunder.
The New Nation also reported: "The US State Department on March 5 designated Harkat-Ul-Jihad-i-Islami-Bangladesh (Huji-B) a 'Foreign Terrorist Organization'. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said the leader of Huji-B signed the February 1998 fatwa sponsored by Osama bin Laden that declared American civilians to be legitimate targets for attack. Since then, Huji-B has been implicated in a number of terrorist attacks."
Reporting the progress and success in fighting terrorism, the Bangladesh Home Adviser Maj. Gen. M. A. Matin said that they have been able to control terrorism, though not fully uproot it. It is actually the previous government, who did it, but the present interim government also followed it up. Many of the important leaders of terrorist activities were arrested in 2006 and, after due process of trials in courts, many were executed and many more jailed. The success was acclaimed in the world quite loudly. Recently there has been no report of any significant acts of terrorism in Bangladesh.
So why have Condi Rice and Jacqui Smith suddenly rung this alarm bell internationally? Have the US and UK, together with EU, Israel, India and their allies, been targeting Bangladesh to throw it into a much deeper abyss than it is already in? The answer must be assumed to be in the affirmative.
It is clear to the people now that it was those powers together, who brought about the emergency rule, imposed on one-eleven 2007, by performing political engineering according to a blue print, known from at least 2005. Canadian human rights lawyer Attorney William Sloan on 8 March 2008 revealed in a press conference in New York that, in August 2005, an MP and an editor in Dhaka told him that a horrifying political conflict would be developed as a pretext to impose emergency, following which anti corruption drive would be launched, 'minus two' policy would be pursued as was in Pakistan, political parties would be weakened by creating divisions through 'reform' movement, judiciary would be separated from the executive, etc. and a government would be formed, which would be subservient to the US. Also in 2005, the then US ambassador Harry K Thomas, with a view to briefing their allies internationally, announced that 'third force' i.e. other than BNP and BAL, will be in power. And the third force was in power on one-eleven 2007. Astrologer? Or conspirator? Obviously, it is the latter.
The new game plan, no doubt, is aiming at subjugating Bangladesh to US-Israel-India axis and plundering it most brutally. As a strategic partner of the US, since US-India military pact in 2005, hegemonic India has been spreading its network of conspiracies world wide, and especially in South Asia. India has many interests in Bangladesh such as gas, coal, transit, port, deep-sea port, airport, connectivity, three-country gas pipeline, political and economic control, etc. Also Israel supplies arms and surveillance equipment to India, while the US and EU supply huge amounts of arms, aircrafts, ships, aircraft carriers, nuclear generators, etc to India. On the other hand, India wants to supply arms to Bangladesh and train Bangladesh Army by replacing its present supplier China, with whom Bangladesh has an agreement of military cooperation. The US-Israel-India axis, for their geo-political interests and conspiracies, is allergic to this agreement. The US also wants to establish a military base in Chittagong area. Thus Bangladesh today faces a great threat to its independence and sovereignty as well as to its socio-economic well-being.
We have to view the present complex situation from the perspective of our resistance to the US-Israel-India axis. The US is trying to control the region from west of Asia to east of Asia with the help of Israel and India, with Israel more involved in the Middle East and India more involved from Afghanistan to Malayasia. They want to occupy Central Asia for oil and gas and construct pipelines for these through Afghanistan and Iran. They also want to occupy and destroy these areas for their oil-empire and general plunder. This is why many believe that it is the CIA and Mossad together, who brought about the nine-eleven 2001 of America with the help of remote controls in aircrafts, to prepare a pretext to attack Afghanistan.
As a heroic nation we must therefore stand as one and valiantly resist the conspiracy of the US-Israel-India axis, which brought about the present military-controlled regime as a first step to subjugate Bangladesh and reduce it to a vassal state under the suzerainty of India. The objective is to plunder it and control it politically, economically, culturally, militarily and territorially to serve their geo-political interest. Even Bangladesh Army's independence is being bartered away in exchange for six horses. Some would call it Faustian bargain!

It is also known that many of the terrorists involved visited India, Pakistan, Afghanistan or the Middle East. But it is not known who is providing the finance or who is remote-controlling them. On these two questions, the information supplied by the government so far is pretty nebulous. The intensity, expertise and voluminous propaganda materials launched world wide by imperialists, hegemonists and a very large number of their lackeys clearly suggest that the propagandists may have a role in the creation and remote-control of the terrorists in Bangladesh, as they have clear objectives and a vicious agenda.
The imperialists, expansionists, hegemonists, oppressors, plunderers and all sorts of anti-people rulers always use lies, damn lies and false statistics to deceive people and they cleverly manipulate all sorts of contingencies in order to achieve their heinous ends. This was once again proved by reportedly the use of at least 935 calculated untruths to start the Iraq war. And after the start, it is claimed about any war that the first victim of a war is the truth. It is needless to say that their propaganda machinery magnifies these to try and achieve the desired effect.
The CBS Evening News of New York reported from Washington on 23 January 2008 that a study by two non-profit journalism organizations found that President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, national security adviser Condoleezza Rice, Defence Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defence Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan and top administration officials issued at least 935 false statements about the national security threat from Iraq in the two years following the nine-eleven 2001 terrorist attacks. It was further reported that:
"It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to al Qaeda," according to Charles Lewis and Mark Reading-Smith of the Fund for Independence in Journalism staff members, writing an overview of the study, "In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003." Such was the tale of horrific lies, which was used as a pretext to start the Iraq oil war in 2003.
Again, it was the US, which created the Islamic terrorism, as it is known today, initially in Afghanistan during its cold war against Soviet Union. Not only did they spend billions of dollars to organise Al-Qaeda and other Islamic militants, politically and militarily, they also printed militant Islamic books and distributed them for free, i.e. providing them with 'ideological' weapons. They even did not spare the children from this most despicable act of 'ideological' brain washing in order for them to be raised as a generation of Islamic militants.
The Washington Post reported on March 23, 2002: "In the twilight of the Cold War, the United States spent millions of dollars to supply Afghan schoolchildren with textbooks filled with violent images and militant Islamic teachings, part of covert attempts to spur resistance to the Soviet occupation. The primers, which were filled with talk of jihad and featured drawings of guns, bullets, soldiers and mines, have served since then as the Afghan school system's core curriculum". During the time of Soviet occupation, regional military leaders in Afghanistan helped the U.S. smuggle books into the country.
It was also said in the report, "Published in the dominant Afghan languages of Dari and Pashtu, the textbooks were developed in the early 1980s under an AID grant to the University of Nebraska-Omaha and its Center for Afghanistan Studies. The agency spent $51 million on the university's education programs in Afghanistan from 1984 to 1994".
The sordid acts of the US imperialists know no bounds, whether it is in Bangladesh or elsewhere in the world. We must stand firm and resist the US-Israel-India axis from subjugating and plundering Bangladesh. The Koreans, the Vietnamese, the Latin Americans, the Iraqis, the Afghans and many other people have defeated them. And so can we.
