[ALOCHONA] Re: Late SK MUJIB : Reality and Romanticism

Attn: Maqsud Omaba

The far more destructive activity (including murders, rapes and
treason) of the Islamic parties and our so called Islamic scholars
during 1971 war will also not be forgotten for centuries to come.
But when we say that, we are shunned. Just check what the Jamaatis
and their covert supporters in disguise are saying to defend the war
criminals vigorously in many discussion groups.

We don't need to exaggerate the contribution of Bangabandhu; at the
same time we also don't need to dehumanize him and other national
leaders such as Tajuddin Ahmed, Syed Nazrul Islam, Mansur Ali, and
Kamruzzaman. How did Bangabandhu and other four national leaders pay
the price for their mistakes? How Islamic was that - killing women
and children, and killing inside prison? How Islamic was the
rewarding of these self-confessed murderers with lucrative foreign
service jobs and legalizing these murders in parliament in the name
of indemnity bill and making it part of the constitution completely
shattering its sanctity? (Bangladesh is the only country in the
world where this type of bill condoning murders has ever been
approved in the parliament, and the person who is solely credited to
this and full rehabilitation of all war criminals is regarded as a
great Islamic hero in the politico-religious circle who often sells
our religion at a very cheap price.)

Using your language:
Corrupt AL leaders+ their activities ... can not help you to minimize
the Jamaat/Shibir black-history.

After 9-11, Bangabandhu has been uplifted to proper place. All those
villains are being thrown into the trash bins of history. The text
books now reflect the correct but not complete history. Who is
making this honest changes? The current CTG. AL or the secular
section of the country has nothing to do with it. Nobody including
supporters of the CTG cannot deny this fact. But these changes are
enough to make some people (some like to call them neutral
Bangladeshis, I don't know how much neutral they are) restless.

My father might not be 100% perfect, but that doesn't mean I have to
kill him and put our house guard in his place. My brother might not
be 100% correct, but that that doesn't mean I have to kill him and
make intimate friendship with my sister's rapist.
