The rise of Facism in India

The Independent People's Tribunal(ipt) formulated and organsied by HRLN and Anhad (Delhi) jointly from 20 to 22 March 2007 has brought out A Report on the testimonials represented by a No.of Victims of communal riots and social activists from all over India.The Report carries detailed versions of the depositions and well witnessed experiences during last 2 dacades both during the NDA regime and the present that goes like a horror movie.The first ever report on rise of near fascist havoc and the support it secured from moraly coward middle class sections is unique in various ways.It puts bigger question marks on the roles played by secular parties, Govt and people in either ignoring the hard core communal politics that polarised the communities on the religious and caste lines within an otherwise harmonised society or finding nothing worth finding in such eventualities. But the Report under reference bares not only the facts but the cynic attitudes of the less harmed people at the top of the society enjoying the VIP protection at the expense of the same people far below having no kind of treatment.The Report with it's 423 pages of communal violence and riots and pogroms and hate games is a collection and fine compilation of the horrific virtual realities slashed open before the Jury Members who again have witnessed similar experiences. The Report therefore presents a true picture of the rising fascist movement within ssecular democratic India so painfully penned by the the Juries and the witnesses.It is a must read for all of us.
The first section 'Voices beneath the Ashes , outlines perspectives of communalism .The second section covers the Rise of Fascist Forces and the Attack on the secular State and it's shared by 15 states.Section three deals with Media Reports (how of it ..) followed by Prelim Obs,and recommendations of the Jury .in the forth section.
The fifth Section covers some readable material documented and it helps us to know the national character of secularism black smeared by the rise of fascism.
There's no separate analysis made on the findings and recording of the depostions probably for the Report itself is fine analysis of the state of affairs as to how the fascist forces and secular forces in power awkwardly join hands when it's a matter of suppressing the peoples' voice .It also confirms a mind boggling truth ;
The religion of political powers is quite distinct from the religiouns of the people.
I personally feel that the book will help you to spend few sleepless nights and traumas during the day whole.
Or at least the dried up blood line with tiny drops around on the cover page (and we know too well where it springs down from..) . will inspire you to try to wipe it from the cover itself ..and the drops will laugh instead of giving a cry in pain...
It's only one more way to express our tributes for those innocent lives ..and costs just Rs.450/- (cost of your shirt or pant or a week's tea cups ..
in case we can't eliminate fascism .let's see how it eliminates some more .. and we may besome of them ..some day.
