[mukto-mona] Re: Attn.: Mehul The issue is NOT the billionaires or their billions

WRT: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mukto-mona/message/47548

Obviously, Dr Jaffor Ullah has to either be lexically challenged or simply too full of himself if this post is read. I had clearly asked how much worth, proportionately, one person's $ 13 million donation was to a $ 100 million corpus when there were 3.2 million members (his figures) who contributed the rest. Extending this analogy, my question was how much, influence there would be, person to person, in an organisation where one individual had invested 13% of the corpus and 3.2 million people had the rest. And this finds no response.

The rest is little more than petty conspiracy theory - not quite
worth responding to when the poster cannot be bothered to read an earlier response or to offer anything other than his personal opinion with a firm belief in his own ominscience. What is hilarious is that this belief extends to what is in effect, a Papal Bull or Fatwa of "illiberalism" to whoever does not toe the almighty poster's line or kowtow to his political convictions, and, the denunciation of anyone who does not agree with his views as someone who is involved in a campaign of "disinformation". The last I recall, this was a tactic that was used by the Soviets and by Joseph Mc Carthy. At the time, people might have been scared of this branding. During the final death throes of the Soviet Empire, when I lived in Moscow, it had become as much a joke as moral dictatorship has become in the rest of the world these days.

Oh yes, the New York Times, agree with it or not (and I have
criticised it here on more than one occasion, as well as written to
its editors and had my opinions published in its columns several
times, thrice in 2008 alone) and The Guardian know nothing. How could
they when they come up against this new infallibility decreed by a
devoted faith in that new prophet called Barack Obama? If this is a
new religion that is erupting, it does seem to have found at least
three converts on Mukto-Mona.

As far as religions go, though, I stick to Robert Heinlein's assertion that one man's religion is another's belly laugh. The convoluted explications of the Obama devotees are certain to provide continuous amusement in the run up to the election.

Watch this space!
