While Extermination Of Minority Hindus Continues, Such Cultural Programme Is A Farce
It has been a fashion in West Bengal to host joint cultural programmes involving two Bengals. These events propagate a bright tolerant cultural face of Bangladesh and never say anything about the Islamic violence on the minority Hindu-Buddhist-Christians. Recently a number of cultural platforms have been floated to propagate Bengali culture by some Muslims whose sole attempt to generate a clash between Bengali and Indian ethos. They will observe 21 February but not 19 May where Bengalis were killed in Kachhar for the language movement. These organisation did not utter a word in support of Taslima Nasrin. Of course, the 'secular' intellectuals from West Bengal patronise them.
Recently one such organisation is holding Kolkata-Dhaka Festival on 9-11 April in Kolkata. On 10 April, the members of CAAMB and United Refugee Movement gathered to protest in front of Moulali Juba Kendra where the programme was going on. They displayed posters on the Islamic atrocities in Bangladesh, distributed leaflet to the programme audience and the passers by. The leaflet's headline was ' While Extermination Of Minority Hindus Continues, Such Cultural Programme Is A Farce'. Chayan Roy of CAAMB, Gopal Saha, Susanta Saha and other from URM spoke there. It had an impact on the organiser as the speakers in the programme acknowledge the situation in Bangladesh. CAAMB and URM will carry out such programme in future to expose the Islamic Bangladesh everywhere.
