BREAKING NEWS Nizami fears arrest Wed, May 14th, 2008 5:36 pm BdST Dhaka, May 14 (bdnews24.com) – Jamaat-e-Islami chief Motiur Rahman Nizami said Wednesday a move was underway to arrest him. "I know the move is on to arrest me. But I am not worried about it at all. I have faith in Allah and in people," Nizami told reporters at the party headquarters in Moghbazar, a day after the Anticorruption Commission pressed charges against him and others in the GATCO scam case. "I had also been implicated in false cases before." Nizami alleged that the government had made a move to destroy "political leadership" in the country in the name of depoliticising. The Jamaat ameer faulted chief adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed on his speech to the nation. He alleged that Fakhruddin had stepped beyond his jurisdiction and pushed dialogue into uncertainty.
