Dear All:
With grief shock and sorrow, we would like to bring to your kind notice that Prof. Hiranmoy Pandey (53), one of the founders and Joint General Secretary of Jagannath Hall Alumni Association, University of Dhaka and a former elected Vice President of the Student Union of the aforesaid hall, expired yesterday (July 04, 2008) at 1:00 pm (BST) at Asian Cardiac Hospital in Dhaka. He was suffering from a number of serious diseases related to kidney, diabetic and cardiac complicacies. He left behind his wife and two minor children. Hailed from the district of Gopalganj, Prof. Pandey was serving as the Head of the Department of Mathematics at Jhenidah Govt. College at the latest.
The Jagannath Hall Alumni Association, on behalf of its Alumni around the globe, mourned at the demise of Prof. Hiranmoy Pandey. We pray to the God for His kindness that the departed soul of the deceased could be rest in the peace in the Heaven. At the same time, we share the deepest shock, sorrow and unbearable pain with his family members for the irrecoverable loss that has been occurred to them and express our all out co-operation& support to them as well.
The dead body of Prof. Pandey was brought to the Jagannath Hall premise at the afternoon after he expired, where the Alumni Association leaders & members, and Provost & House Tutors along with huge number of current students of the Hall paid homage to him. The dead body was carried to his birth place of Tungipara, Gopalganj for funeral and ritual functions.
It could be recall that Prof. Hiranmoy Pandey had kidney transplantation in June 2003 at Karnataka Nephrology and Transplant Institute (KANTI), Bangalore , India , while the Alumni of Jagannath Hall and his friends & well wishers across the ocean provided enormous financial support for that major surgical. He was doing well for initial 2-3 years upon the surgery; however, then again his complicacies started growing.
Let us recall one of our great friends and again pay homage to him.
