Greetings from sunny Kuwait!
I also believe Hasina did not have to pay for these awards. These
are 'honorary' awards given at the complete discretion of the
awarding body.
The problem with such awards is that they portray Hasina to be
something that she is not - and that is wrong, especially given that
she seeks to be PM of Bangladesh.
What could be the remarkable and observable merits of Hasina that
bring her such awards? Well this brings us to the another problem:
these awards actually indicate a lot of lobbying by AL academics
abroad to honour their beloved Nethri.
Both these problems should be tackled in broad daylight.
And wouldn't it be great to have a Prime Minister who actually earned
a PhD properly?

positions, towards going to be the full professor.(13) However,
honorary Ph. D. degree holders are not considered in any Universities
to do professorship, in the subject, to which Ph. D. degree is
awarded.(14) Honorary Ph. D. Degree can not be pursued, passed, asked
for, or bought (as some people suspect).(15) This is entirely on the
evaluation of the University, based on some remarkable and observable
merits of the candidate, on which he/she is honored by awarding a
