Dear Members,
I am a student at Wadham College, Oxford and am completing a thesis on
Bangla literature during the East Pakistan period, looking at the
development of cultural resistance against the Pakistan state and the
evolution of secular, proto-Bangladeshi nationalism. I am writing up
but have noticed that my chapter on Kabar, Nashta Chele and Manush is
lacking any information on the performance aspects of these plays.
Can any of you recall anything about these plays? Where/when/how they
were performed during this period, for example? Any details about
their staging in particular would be of tremendous help.
I would be very very grateful for your help and would of course, quote
and formally acknowledge your help in my thesis.
