Those who are not yet ready to quit religion need reinterpretation of many teachings in it in the light of evolving circumstances. Only in this way a progressive mind who also happens to be a believer can lead a harmonious life. And this kind of reinterpretation must come from scholars like Maulana Wahiduddin Khan. Whatever the true meaning of Jihad be, those who are engaged in terrorist activities in the name of Jihad will obviously detest the articles like the one forwarded by Yogi Sikand. This kind of article has the potential to change the mind of those who have not yet been fully indoctrinated by militant Islamism, although hard core Islam bashers will see this as an eye-wash aimed at glorifying Islam.
