There is no such thing like half Hindu or Half Muslim. Mr. Reza was either a muslim or a Hindu. That has to established before any discussion. His father is a Muslim and mother was muslim and later abandoned her Islamic faith. Dead Reza never declared his intention how he will be burried or cremated. Muslim community leaders definitely can express their opinion without any fear in this country that does nolt mean that they cannot say anything about Mr. Reza. In other hand dead man's family had preference for his last ritual. Community and riligious leaders obserbed his islamic duties like reading praying at mosque, learning/reciting Holy Quran and fasting during the month of Ramadhan. Therefore they have expressed their desire how he could be burried Islamically.
Finally my opinoon is that either he was a muslim or he was a Hindu there is no third option.Third option could be he was a Nastik(without any religioos belief)
We never heard about half muslim/Half Hindu phrase.
