While I was having lunch after Jumaa prayer, watching a cooking show, my wife's favourite and I would like to share what was cooking.
I would not identify the host and the guest both from film industry, one is engaged in directing film as well.
The host was saying now my guest will show you 'how to prawn the grill' (ekhon apnader dekhabe ki korey korte hoi griller prawn). The guest started showing the process. There were no charcoal, no grill. Prawns were soaked in flower paste and dip fried. What is call infusion in cooking style as Tomy Mian says, that can be mixing the processes or adding new ingredients in the recipe. But can you call fry as simmering or simmering as stir fry or dip fry. Prawns were dip fried not grilled in charcoal or as the Iranian does on the line of roller steel fired by gas.
No wonder in our drama middle class or upper class house décor or their living pattern do not reflect their style and fashion.
35 years ago we made better movies, lyrics and music (sonali diner gan or sobi as popularly called), why we failed to learn or updated ourselves!
