[mukto-mona] Burn them alive?

I am totally distressed and appalled by the New Age report that the Islamic extremist student elements have threatened the secular students of the Rajshahi University to burn them alive. This outrageous and medieval religious mindset is an outright criminal attitude entirely based on intolerance and ignorance. The administration of Bangladesh systematically tolerates such unlawful and hateful utterances which is tantamount to a policy of encouragement or utter helplessness. No sensible person can agree that this nation is governed by the rule of law, democracy and a constitution which guarantees equal rights for every citizen. In these prevailing circumstances of anarchy no one can deny that the national political parties are absolutely unable to fathom the dangers posed by the religious extremists which is poised to drag the nation into an abyss. Their temptation to power is so deep and callous that they are oblivious to this impending danger of religious extremism which is not only tarnishing the image of the nation but also pushing the future towards a confrontation. This is the moment to chart a new course based on enlightenment and a pragmatic outlook. The old guard must relinquish its grip on power and allow the new generation to grow and flourish. The rusted social system is asking for a complete reversal of the old practices. A system based on strict rule of law must be allowed to take hold.  The posterity is demanding this transformation right now.
