Whoever were the terrorists who massacred around 200 persons (including children and women), maimed more than 500 and indulged in large scale arson in Mumbai recently, in deed, unabashedly served the interest of the Hindutva gang. We need to investigate the linkages. We need to seriously take note of the following aspects.
(1) Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS), Maharashtra , Chief Hemant Karkare and his two leading team members were killed by these terrorists. This was the team which was investigating the Hindutva terror-network despite aggressive and violent protest from RSS/BJP leaders. In fact, a Hindutva outfit threatened to burn down Hemant Karkare's residence, a day before the terrorists struck. It seems with the death of Hemant Karkare, the Hindutva gang is going to be the biggest beneficiary. It became clear in the Mumbai special MCOCA court on December 1. When Dayanand Pandey who is alleged to be a king pin of the Hindutva terror network was produced in the court, the ATS did not press for police custody and the accused was sent in judicial custody. Rohini Salian, Special Public Prosecutor went to the extent of commenting that "all forces are against us". [The Indian Express, 2/12/2008, New Delhi , p. 7.]
(2) The terrorists began their project of maiming and massacring innocent people on November 26th night. 27th was the polling day for Madhya Pradesh, 29th for Delhi and January 4th for Rajasthan. The political pundits were of the opinion that except Delhi , in other two states (where BJP had been in power) it would be ousted from power. But with these attacks, UPA Government in docks, BJP became the gainer. In fact, in the post-terrorist attack scenario it could make a clean sweep. (3) The Hindutva gang has been after renowned painter & film-maker, MF Husain. His paintings have been burnt/destroyed, the exhibitions where his paintings were displayed were burnt or vandalized and he has been personally attacked forcing him to migrate from India . The terrorists who attacked Hotel Taj also destroyed his three well-known paintings which were displayed in the lobby of the heritage hotel. It simply underlines the ideological affinity of the terrorists and the Hindutva gang. |
