[mukto-mona] Terrorism can't be fought with terrorism

Terrorism can't be fought with terrorism

-Mumbai Tragedy and its impact on Pak-India Relationship and Fight
against Hepatitis Threat in Pakistan

Friends,

Our brothers and sisters in India became victims of the similar insane
and inhuman attacks that our people in Pakistan have been subjected to
for a long time. The blood of innocent men, women, and children that
is shed in both countries makes us brothers and sisters in blood.

Our common enemy is trying to turn our nations into a cloud of smoke.
Can we find common grounds to fight back this threat? There are
political groups in both countries, which are taking an unholy
advantage of this tragedy to settle their own narrow political and
ethnic accounts.

We know terror can't be fought with terror just the way you can't wash
dirt with the dirt. We also know every Pashtoon is not a terrorist and
every terrorist is not a Pashtoon. We can't allow gang violence in
Pakistan to substitute state power and legal governance.
This is a wake up call for all who have decided to take a sideline.
History will not absolve them and will remember them with an unkind
headline. I urge you to join us in this historic meeting to take a
stand against violence and terror.

I request you to join us to send a strong message that we are watching
and so is the world. We will not tolerate intolerance that continues
setting communities and nations against each other.

Regards,

Terrorism has no nationality or a religion

The Mumbai terror attack demonstrates how a few insane people can
destroy hundreds of families and set nations at war path. This tragedy
also reminds us that we live in a New World Disorder in which we are
forced to cope with terrorism just like events of natural disaster.

Although we can't fight nature but we can defeat man made carnage if
we find and punish the culprits but simultaneously heal the root
cause. Peace loving individuals, groups, and nations must work in
concert to isolate a few beasts from millions of innocent people who
want to live their lives in dignity and peace.

Just remember, if you react in haste, the terrorism wins.

country nearing 3.4 million people. Districts of Qambar, Larkana, and
Dadu show alarming number of hepatitis cases.

C, 24000 patients are estimated to be present at District Qambar
alone.

LEADING INDICATORS

Poverty, negligence, lack of basic social services and access to
healthcare, and lack of awareness are considered to be the major
indicators of this epidemic.

LEADING CAUSES
Transmission through blood transfusions, use of un-sterilized
syringes, pricks and cuts at barber shops, and street dentists.

ACTION STRATEGY
• Increase awareness and launch massive preventive and curative campaigns
• Identify and approach subject matter experts, governments, and
international organizations involved in fight against Hepatitis B & C
virus. Pursue them to consider Pakistan as their area of work.
• Become loudest voice to apply pressure on government and
non-government agencies to assure accountability and transparency of
appropriate use of funds on the ground
• As a Diaspora and caring individuals and groups let us become a
bridge between organizations engaged in similar effort around the
world and
relief efforts on the ground. Please push for increased cooperation
with volunteer organizations, NGOs, and teacher community on the
ground.

Thank you.
